Hi there! Thanks for stopping by :) This website is currently a work in progress style-wise, but feel free to glance at the content! Thank you and have a nice day!

About Me

I'm a sophomore at Bradley University. I consider myself a life long learner passionate about technology and creativity.

I’m currently an undergraduate student at Bradley University double majoring in Computer Science and Statistics. I discovered my passion for technology my junior year of highschool and since then, I’ve dedicated my time to learning as much as I can. Through my personal projects, classes, and extracurriculars, I love exploring technology’s potential for creativity and positive impact. Through my involvement in Society of Women Engineers, Kode With Klossy, and Rewriting the Code, I aim to educate myself and empower other women in tech.

Because of my interest in math, I’ve focused my electives on Data Science topics. Beyond Data Science, I also enjoy Web Development and am currently working through the Odin Project’s Full Stack JavaScript Path.

When I'm not looking up documentation, I also enjoy reading, crocheting, journaling, language learning, and spending time with family.

Projects

Besides projects, I also spend time practicing programming (mostly Python) and web development with coding challenges. To see more, visit my GitHub.

July 2024 - Present

This past July, I was honored to be appointed as a teaching coordinator for Inspirigirl, a non-profit led by young adults, as a teaching coordinator. In my new role, I organize educational programs and create curricula on Python, Java, and Web Development alongside fellow board members to further our mission of providing free Computer Science education.

Instructor Assistant for Kode With Klossy Data Science Camp

March 2024 - July 2024

In summer 2024, I was hired on as a Data Science Instructor Assistant after completing 3-month long training.

As an Instructor Assistant, I fully supported my students during lessons with timely announcement and reminders. I also customized learning materials and took charge of community building to support 200+ scholars with a 90% engagement rate.

My favorite part was leading coding practices in Python, SQL, and Looker Studio and assisting scholars in using data visualization tools for final projects with a 100% completion rate. It was incredible to see the amazing projects the students came up with!

Membership Coordinator for Bradley Serve Volunteering Organization

Aug 2023 - Present

Bradley SERVE is one of the main volunteering organizations at Bradley University. In freshman year, I became a frequent volunteer at various sites around my area. I eventually transitiond into being a site leader, responsible for managing volunteers during volunteer events.

In Feb of 2023, I applied and was accepted into the SERVE board as the Membership Coordinator. In my role, I welcome volunteers to events, serve as a representative of SERVE at fairs and tablings, facilitate monthly preparation and debrief sessions to ensure alignment with SERVE goals, host info sessions every semester, and host celebratory and team building events yearly.

Coding Instructor for Bradley DAPCEP (Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program)

Aug 2023 - Present

In August 2023, I was hired as a teacher assistant for the Intro to Coding Class. I helped manage students, took attendance, and collaborated with the instructor and other assistants.

In January 2024, I was promoted to Instructor and am now responsible for creating and updating curriculum for the Intro to Coding Class. During the school year, I teach 2 five week long courses on coding principles using Scratch and Blockly to 15+ students. Along with my instructor assistants, I take students through the basics of coding logic then send them off after an exciting final project. Last semester, the students and I built Starhunter

Other milestones in my tech journey

how I'm pursuing my passion in tech

2022

For the first time, I was accepted into the Kode With Klossy program as a Web Dev Scholar for an intensive 2 week program about Web Development.I learned a lot about programming, teamwork, and the software life cycle.

Using my new web dev skills, I competed in the Congressional App Challenge and won 1st place for my district.

2023

I volunteered at my high school to reinstate a working high school website, focused on creating a supply list that wouldn't require frequent revisions while including essential information. For this, I had to learn to work with C#, SQL, and Azure DevOps

I returned to Kode With Klossy and was accepted into the program a second time as a Data Science scholar.

I joined Society of Women Engineers and took full advantage of my university chapter's social and professional events such as Ice Cream Socials and Mock Interviews.

2024

I became a Kode With Klossy Instructor Assistant, excited to give back to the community that had given me so much.

I joined Rewriting the Code, learning and networking all summer long

I was accepted into Codepath's Technical Interview Prep course, an intensive 10 week program that hones student's programming skills under pressure.

Great software engineers aren't just coders, they're also great communicators and leaders. Knowing this, I applied and was one of 100 women accepted into the Society of Women Engineers Collegiate Leadership Institute program, an initiative that connects women around the world to collectively improve leadership and communication skills.
